Blog Users Are Graphic Savvy People

Blog Tools, Blogging, Graphics No Comments »

Blog users have turned themselves into graphic- savvy people. Some famous and popular blogs are very distinctive not only their contents and posts but also their designs. Even if you are not an influential blogger, you still prefer to create a blog that portrays your personality. Themes featured in websites are not merely there to decorate sites. They are created to show individuality and personalization. Kubrick theme has become WordPress staple in terms of site theme. However, there are several reasons why custom themes are chosen over Kubrick theme.

The theme chosen is crucial to portray the type of blog you want show to public. Photography blogs adapt more photo- related layout designs than bland and boring theme to show more attitudes. Beauty blogs will of course feature cosmetic-related headers and pastel- coloured layout designs. That is why Kubrick theme is slowly fading from blogging scene. Kubrick theme has simply failed to bring the X- factor in blogs no matter how well the posts are written. People feast their eyes first before reading the contents.

Another reason to the rising popularity of custom theme over Kubrick theme is practicality. Custom theme can be changed many times according to your liking whereas for Kubrick theme, you can only re-adapt it. If it is total makeover that people want, Kubrick theme loses out big time because no matter how you re-adapt the theme, it still retains the Kubrick look. That is a turn- off to many users which explains the declining popularity of Kubrick theme.

For beginners, Kubrick theme is used to start a blog. However, after they are well- versed in site application they might want to change themes for fresher look. People do get bored easily with the same theme. In this case, people will get bored of Kubrick theme if the theme is used for a long time.

Custom theme is created to make blogosphere merrier with bright hues and pictures. If everyone is using Kubrick theme for WordPress sites, reading blog is going to be so boring since you will be looking at the same layout over and over again. Therefore, custom themes are the best solution to re-create websites with a dash of personalization and attitude.

Creating new themes out of sheer enjoyment seems to be popular for people who have basic HTML, CSS and Photoshop skills. More people are utilizing their talents to customize their own sites. Sometimes it is not about reputation, people do enjoy being creative. Using only Kubrick theme in websites only makes your creativity stagnant.

People also download many themes at the same time to keep in case they want to test which theme suit their blogs the best. Unlike Kubrick theme, custom themes can be studied and reproduce to create new and better designs. Even if you are IT illiterate, there are always free design websites that give a variety of designs to be chosen. To take your Wordpress website to a higher level, you can either choose to hire professionals to design theme of your choice or download limited version of designs form paid websites.

In conclusion, we live in a world where illustration and graphics matter. Kubrick theme used to be the trendiest thing until we discover custom themes.

Blog Posting Tutorial

Blog Posting Tutorial

When you decide to start a blog the most important thing you need to do is post to your blog and often it requires daily posts in order to keep up with readers needs. Most people who blog feel that they can skip a few things when posting blog posts in order to make the process quicker, but in fact it only hurts your content if you don’t spend the time posting it properly. It can take a mere ten minutes to post to your blog once you’ve gotten the article written and you should make sure you spend the time it takes to post effectively. Posting effectively means taking the time to add features that most people don’t spend the time doing. Some are simple and you may already do them which would be great, but if you don’t already utilize these options then you should implement them immediately.

There are a few things you should always do when posting new blog posts and I’m going to discuss those with you right now in case you don’t already know what needs done. The first thing and most obvious thing are to make unique descriptions and use unique keywords for every post. I know the option is available on the newest update of Wordpress to simply use old keywords and descriptions but then the SE will read it as the same as other posts and will hurt your rankings. This is obvious and most people already do use unique titles, descriptions and keywords so I won’t stay in this one too long just make sure you take the time to make your blog posts including the titles, keywords and descriptions.

Apart from the obvious that was stated above you should also make your blog posts attractive and do this you simply need to make some minor adjustments to the formatting of your post. Millions of people use default formatting and font which is fine, but if you want to stand out then make sure you do by creating attractive posts. Begin by making sure your content flows well and that there aren’t too many big paragraphs. People prefer reading through smaller paragraphs then longer ones so it’s clear that you should make sure your paragraphs aren’t too long. You should also use sub-headings for your posts and make them in bold so they pop, also take time thinking of the sub-headings because since there in bold it’ll be some of the first text read by everyone who visits the page. The next thing you need to do is change the font so that it’s more attractive then the default font. Also enlarge the font depending on how your theme displays the font because if it’s too small your posts will be harder to read as well as look smaller. Finally you should add a picture or two and incorporate them into the post, meaning make them aligned so that they fit with the content. Don’t just post two pictures at the bottom of the posts because that just makes it look rushed and doesn’t really add any real value to the post.

If you can manage to do this every time you make a post on your blog then I have no doubts in my mind that you will have a great blog filled with visitors. Content is also preached to be king and well if that’s the case then you need to make sure you’re doing your part to make sure your content is the best it can be. If you follow the steps above then sometimes poor writing can even become more attractive and therefore popular. I suggest taking time to write the content so that it’s not poor, but nonetheless if you follow the tips above you’ll have much more success at blogging and you’ll stand out more to the crowd.

Blog Business, Blogging, SEO No Comments »

To answer this question, we need to define what Wordpress, Blog and SEO are. Wordpress is free journalism over the Internet. It is an entity in the Internet that allows a person to express himself by creating a Blog. A blog simply means writing online individual journals, feedback, commentaries, and while maintaining it on a Website on the Internet.

There is a couple of this online journalism on the Internet and one is BlogSpot, a competitor of Wordpress. There have been comparisons between the two Website by users. Both have tactical features that make each individual unique from each other. However, this article will explain more on Wordpress and why it is so SEO friendly.

Search Engine Optimization or simply SEO as explained. This is the application of optimizing and maximizing the accessibility of your site or blog on a Search Engine by strategies and tactics. A Search Engine Optimizer is an individual who performs these functions.

SEO function is to assure that a Blog or site on the Internet will come out on the first couple of pages of the SERP (Search Engine Result Page) using strategies and discovering other means of obtaining this goal. This is significant because Search engine categories rely critically on the rank and number of links to your blog while they launch the positioning and the optimum technique to attain links that are by customary suggestions from other bloggers or web site holders.

Wordpress which is defined on the first part of this article seems a favorite among several SEO who are keen to work on this site. Why is Wordpress so SEO friendly? There are a couple of reasons why.

Wordpress is SEO friendly because a plugin can be predetermined to strongly produces a XML sitemap which is proposed to Google, MSN and the likes as soon as you issue your post. This plugin will also advance your sitemap to Yahoo if you install it by going to your Yahoo API which can be obtained free of charge, and a plugin can be set up to energetically generates a sitemap for your guests.

Moreover, Wordpress can also be adapted to supplement many different customs and a lot of these enhancements will connect to the common functionality of making visitors and SEO to bond more on the site. The confident figure of inbound link by Wordpress is auto-generated with every post by pinging the blog index and compliance to RSS Feed aggregators. Benefits of Running a Contest on your Blog

Blog Business, Blog Platform, Blog Tools, Blogging No Comments »

Benefits of Running a Contest on your Blog

There are numerous benefits as to why you should run a contest on your blog and we’re going too look at all of those benefits throughout this article. The most obvious reason is too increase your traffic and reader interactivity with your blog. Before you can benefit from running a contest on your blog you’ll need to know how to run a successful contest.

The first thing you need to do is organize your contest which is one of the most important steps. Make sure you have everything organized from the actual contest to the prizes and don’t leave anything out so that there are no surprises once you begin the contest. One thing you need to remember is that once you start your contest you need to fulfill the contest or else your blog readers will be very upset and usually never come back to your blog. Some will even bad mouth your blog so never start a contest without finishing it. I would recommend you buy the prizes for your contest once you have it planned so that you have them ready for when the contest is over.

Once the contest is planned out and you’re organized enough to run it you will need to start drawing in people to enter the contest. You need to get the word out about your contest to as many people as you can and with the social networks online today it shouldn’t be hard. You can use the social networking websites and any forums based around your blogs niche for finding people to enter your contest. You should start finding people to enter the contest well before the actual contest so that this way more people will have the chance to hear about the contest and join in on it.

When you run a contest on your blog the prizes don’t need to be anything huge either to draw in big traffic it should be related to your blog though. For instance if you have a video game blog then you’ll want to get some video games as prizes as this is directly related to your blog niche.

Now that you have some idea about running your own contest on your blog we’ll briefly look at the benefits of running a contest on your blog. There are plenty of benefits for running a contest on your blog and here are some of them.

•    Increased Readership
•    Increased Blog Activity
•    Exposure from other Blogs
•    Traffic Spikes during Contest

The main reason to run a contest is to get people on your blog and once there on your blog then you need to convince them through your content that they should stay. If they stay then you’ve done your job. You should run a few small contests on your blog to see how well they do and see if your return visitor increases at all. If your visitors do increase start running larger contests to see if you can’t keep the same conversions.

I run contests on my blog all the time and usually have one at least every month. This keeps the readers on my blog active and interested with what’s going on with the blog. Sometimes the prizes can cost next to nothing, but it still generates lots of traffic and comments. Try running some contests on your blog and see if it helps increase your current readership.

Benefits of Having More Then One Blog in the Same Niche

Blog Tools, Blogging, Blogs, Niche No Comments »

Benefits of Having More Then One Blog in the Same Niche

There are many people who have blogs in the same niche and many people own multiple blogs in the same niche and there is a reason for this. The most obvious reason is that you’ll make more money from having more blogs, and this is true but it takes more work. You need to be prepared to spend a lot of time on your blogs and once you start opening multiple blogs your workload starts doubling and tripling. The advantage of making your blogs in the same niche is that you’ll be able to write content and do your promotion at the same time for every blog. If you had blogs spread across different niches then your marketing and promotion would need to be different for each niche most likely which means you wouldn’t have enough time to properly run the blogs and make them successful. If you run the blogs in the same niche then the promotion and marketing can be done at the same time for the blogs and although it will take a bit longer to submit everything each day it could really boost your revenue. Ideally you’d target different keywords for each blog because there is no point competing with yourself for keywords, and there are enough keywords in every niche that it should never come down to you needing to optimize a blog for keywords that you’ve already optimized on another blog. Having multiple blogs can have many benefits down the road and we’ll talk about some of them throughout the rest of this article.

More Blogs = More Profit

It’s simple to say that multiple blogs can earn more money, there is an argument that one big blog could earn more, but more webmasters say multiple blogs makes more profit and also makes promotion easier. You should build one blog at first though and let it get traffic going before making other blogs, if you do this then you should be able to send traffic from the flagship blog to the new blogs you create over time.

Interlinking

Pending you’ve spent the few bucks it costs for dedicated IP’s you can interlink your blogs. Make sure the blogs are on their on IP though and if possible own hosting plan. I say this because if you’re caught interlinking blogs on the same IP then you may get de-indexed from Google which would be horrible. Interlinking your blogs is what makes it a network though and traffic can flow from one blog to the next. Ideally that is what you want and why you should target different areas of the niche with each new blog you create in the network.

Owning the Niche

Although you’ve already gotten a niche blog for one topic you could always start creating blogs in the same general niche but using different niches in that general niche. For instance you could blogs for all the celebrities you like and then interlink them together and make a niche network. You’ll begin to own the niche with many powerful blogs and can make a lot of money through this method.

Having blogs in the same niche is very beneficial and it can also lead to more money down the road. If you have ten decent blogs compared to one good blog you’ll usually make more revenue on the multiple blogs and when it comes time to sell them you’ll make more typically as well. Unless you have a blog that is a complete authority in the topic then going with multiple niche blogs is a wiser decision. You can then also sell only apart of your niche blog network and you have the option then to keep some of the revenue coming in monthly and also selling a piece of the network for quick cash. Niche blogs I feel dominate general blogs, especially nowadays with there being millions of blogs on the internet now.

Become an Active Member in the Blogosphere

Blog Tools, Blogging, Blogs No Comments »

Become an Active Member in the Blogosphere

You’d actually probably be surprised but if you’re an active member in the blogosphere then it will bring you countless amounts of free traffic, and can make your blog more mainstream. There are tons of blogs created and many more created on a daily basis and you need to make sure that if you plan on blogging that you make yourself stand out from the crowd. There are tons of social networking sites for bloggers that can help create a name for yourself and your blog, and the more time you spend on working on networking the better results you’ll see.

Don’t expect to get thousands of visitors overnight from a couple conversations, but over time if you consistently use the social networking sites for bloggers then you can gain a following of people, especially if your blog is half-decent. Twitter is probably the most popular network for bloggers right now and it allows bloggers to follow the daily internet lives of other bloggers. Anyone can use the site though and you don’t need to be a blogger which means that many blog readers also use the site to follow the popular bloggers. If you make yourself noticeable on Twitter then chances are more and more people will begin to follow you which simply means they can see whenever you post something new to Twitter.

This means you can post a new blog post and then notify everyone on your Twitter about it within seconds which will help gain you a readership. If your knowledge is useful and not just regurgitated nonsense then you will stand a much better shot at retaining the readers that come from the social networking sites.

Another way to become active in the blogosphere to benefit your blog is by commenting regularly on different blogs. I always make sure I comment on certain blogs, as then you begin to gain a friendship with the other blogger which can be great for your blog. This can lead into link exchanges, blog post exchanges and even traffic exchanges through numerous methods. The possibilities are endless and the fact is most bloggers like networking with other bloggers to help each other out. All you need to do is make yourself noticeable by commenting on blogs, and obviously you might not be noticed on a blog with hundreds of comments a day but if you comment on semi popular blogs you can become noticed quickly.

You can also link to other blogs in your blog posts and they will then notice that they’ve been linked to from your blog. This could end up getting you a link in return and depending on which blog links you back it could bring in huge amounts of traffic.

Your best friends are other bloggers when you’re a blogger yourself so make sure you remember that and always be network with other bloggers. Also if you’re asked for help from a fellow blogger you should help them out because you never know what it could lead too. You may end up getting a link from them or even a review from them and it could lead to more traffic. If it’s a service you offer on your blog then you may even get more business from it. Sometimes doing free work leads to higher paying jobs which mean you should always consider doing freebies for some people. If it gets you advertising out of the deal then it’s not working for free anyways, so you need to think of it like this.

There is nothing more important I find then becoming friends with other bloggers in your niche, because although there sort of your competition you can still benefit from helping them out. Blog commenting also builds your backlinks so this is the most important thing to do, because even if it leads nowhere you’ll at least be getting some backlinks. The do-follow backlinks help your search engine placements as well, but most bloggers don’t use do-follow. If you find a do-follow blog then you should bookmark it and comment there at least once a day because then you’re guaranteed to be increasing your backlinks everyday which is something that Google and the other search engines love to see.

Battle Of The Blogosphere: WordPress Vs Blogger

Blog Beginning, Blog Business, Blog Definitions, Blog Tools, Blogging No Comments »

Battle Of The Blogosphere: WordPress Vs Blogger

In the blogosphere, to blog hosts lead the pack in getting bloggers to sign up with them and use their services. For any long time blogger, they’ll always be asking themselves, “WordPress or Blogger?” Truthfully though, what are the things that set them apart and which of them is farther ahead than the other in this two horse race?

There is only one way to determine this and that is to put the features of each blog hosts head to head from a blogger’s point of view.

Project Principles:
WordPress utilizes an open source project whereas Blogger is simply a Google-owned blog host. Those not-so-particular crowds would not really give a care about this but for the true community of bloggers, it could be a crucial difference.

Ease and Efficiency:
WordPress only requires you to take 2 simple steps which only eat up seconds to get your blog up and running but Blogger needs you to take 3 huge steps which generally require a longer period of time before you can get started with blogging. WordPress clearly impresses in this part.

Themes:
These make up for the look of your blog and while both web hosts provide you with a long list of themes to choose from, only Blogger allows for further customization by letting its users do their own coding to get their creativity pouring and get the right look for their blog. Although WordPress does not offer that, they make up for it by allowing users to switch themes easily at any time and their list of themes are constantly updated with regard to users’ feedback; a feature that will provide users’ the fun of browsing through many great looking themes which can go on for hours.

Blog Statistics:
WordPress has an integrated statistic system for the use of all its users. It allows them to get an idea of their blog’s visitors and the frequency as well as makes it easier to evaluate their own blog. It also allows the blogger to add tags to each post as a convenient form of compilation apart from making it easy for readers to navigate. Blogger is lacking in these departments and WordPress wins again.

Protection against Spam:
While both web hosts offer spam protection in their systems, WordPress’ Automatic Spam Protection is the one more approved by users as of now in terms of useability.

Posts’ Comments:
While both hosts allow for comments for each post considering the blogger permits it, only WordPress offers notifications for comments to be tracked back and follow ups to the blog administrator.

Importing:
WordPress can convince more people to switch over than Blogger and much of the credit has to go to their importing feature. It allows bloggers to literally shift their old blog hosted elsewhere to WordPress, something Blogger lacks and may be a victim of.

Quite simply, both provide the basic needs of any blogger but once taken into account, one clearly outshines the other in terms of features and functionality. WordPress is our winner, is it yours?

Email Groups – Hidden Treasure Troves For Advertising
A Blog

Something that has become increasingly popular since
the Internet has grown are the email groups that are
available through Yahoo, MSN, and other venues.

They are a great way to meet other people who have a
common interest, and are very similar to the
communities that are available through blogging sites.

There is plenty of diverse subjects and there are
communities for just about any subject.

These groups can be a great place for people who have
a blog about the subject and want to share it with
other people.

Most of the time when you join a group, you are
encouraged to take a moment and to introduce yourself.
This is a great opportunity to tell people about your
blog, but make certain that you don’t overdo it.

Just like with any of the other places you will
advertise your blog, you want to make people want to
go to your blog. If you are too overbearing, you will
turn people off.

If your blog covers different subjects, you can
advertise it on the other groups that cover those
subjects as well.

Make certain that your post to the groups is
interesting and that you let people know what it is
that your blog is about. There’s nothing worse than
getting taken to a blog under false pretences.

When people visit your blog, make certain that you
thank them for visiting and respond to comments that
they leave.

If they know that you appreciate the time that they
took, they are more likely to come back again.
